We had the honor of hosting the Multitwinning in Turku from 19 to 22 March 2026! Founded in 2006, Ports & Bridges is an active project between JCI chapters located in the cities of Antwerpen, Duisburg, Hamburg, Istanbul, Riga and Rotterdam. All member chapters in Ports & Bridges are water-bound cities and logistic centres with vibrant harbor activities.

The main goal of multitwinning is the establishment of an active international exchange between the chapters. The key focus is a to transfer cultural and business know-how, as well as bonding between individuals, which in turn will strengthen the European JCI network.

A four-day visit included, among other things, a welcome party on a riverboat, company visits to Meyer Turku Shipyard, Mobimar’s factory, the Turku City Theatre, and Lundén Architecture’s office at the Vartiovuori Observatory. The visit culminated in an evening gala held in the church of Kakola Hotel. And of course, we can’t forget the bar crawls, sauna, karaoke, and coffee moments by the riverside with our Belgian, German, and Dutch guests! In total, more than 60 members of the JCI took part in the event over the weekend.

The next Multitwinning event will be hosted in Hamburg by the Wirtschaftsjunioren Hamburg in the fall of 2027.
